Kristine N. Corn, DPT Kris is founder, director and therapist at Sierra Pediatric Therapy Clinic. She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of the Pacific. In addition, Kris is certified as a Neurodevelopmental Therapist and Instructor. Presently she is a part time instructor in the Physical Therapy department at UOP and has taught at Sacramento State University, the University of California, Davis and the University of Tokyo in Japan under the auspices of the World Health Organization.
Kris has extensive background in treating children with neurological disabilities. Her initial primary focus was treating children with cerebral palsy. Over the past 15 years she has included in her practice children with Autism and Autistic Spectrum Disorders, genetic disorders including Down Syndrome, Cree Du Shaw, spinabifida, and muscular dystrophies to name a few. Children with sensory dysfunction disorders and adolescents with idiopathic scoliosis are also treated at the clinic.
Ride to Walk is a therapeutic horseback-riding program, also founded by Kris. She is presently the Executive Director of the program and also serves as one of its therapists. Carol Bartolo Loeffler, MA, OTR/L, BCP Carol graduated with degrees in Occupational Therapy from the Ohio State University (Bachelor of Science 1982) and University of Southern California (Master of Arts 1988) and completed post-graduate training with renowned OTs, including A. Jean Ayres, PhD, OTR, FAOTA, pioneer of the theory of Sensory Integration, research and treatment. Carol’s research documenting the relationship of juvenile delinquency, visual perception and sensory integration and praxis dysfunction was published in The American Journal of Occupational Therapy. Carol has lectured at various colleges and conferences, developed/implemented OTA and OTR internship programs, mentored individuals and was academic faculty in an OT Assistant program. Carol’s clinical experience is broad, with primary interest in the sociologic, neurologic and orthopedic impact on sensory processing, daily living and the natural environment. Experience in a variety of environments, with individuals from prematurity to geriatrics, diverse diagnoses and range of therapeutic distinction awarded for advanced competency and practice by the American Occupational Therapy Association. Carol values collaboration in the therapeutic journey and uses the teaching-learning process to build the partnership.
Karen Dugoni, MPT Karen received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from UCLA in 1988 and a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of the Pacific in 1991. She has experience in acute care, neuro-rehab, geriatrics and outpatient orthopedics, but her passion has always been with pediatrics. She has worked with Shriner’s Hospital in Sacramento, inpatient pediatrics at UC Davis Medical Center and Sutter Memorial Hospital and spent 5 years working with California Children’s Services in Alameda County. She moved to Granite Bay with her husband and their 3 children in 2005. Karen joined Kris’ clinic in 2006. She strongly believes that there is always more to learn. She is confident that joining with Kris will allow her the opportunity to expand her knowledge and skill base to better serve the children and their families.
Cyndi Hogan, PTA Cyndi graduated from Sacramento City College with an Associate of Science degree in Physical Therapy Assistant in May of 2006. She also has an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from American River College. She has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2004. Cyndi has a background in youth ministry and accounting and is the mother of twin boys.
Myra Todrank, OTR/L Myra received her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from San Jose State University in 1987. As an Occupational Therapist, her expertise is in sensory processing disorders. Her initial desire was to work in pediatric oncology but changed her direction after marrying and having 2 children. She obtained her adult education teaching credential from California State University, Sacramento. Currently, she is also working at a parent education preschool in Roseville. She shares her passion for children through a play-based/developmental philosophy and nurturing “the whole child”.
